Use - Homewear fabric
Homewear fabric is made for comfort that still looks well-groomed. Many brands rely on these qualities because they are soft, offer freedom of movement, and remain uncomplicated. Ideal for relaxed looks with a high-quality feel.
Homewear fabrics are often knitted or elastic and designed for a comfortable feel on the skin. Jersey and interlock feel smooth and soft, while French terry gives a bit more structure and body without becoming heavy. Blends with modal or lyocell are popular because they fall particularly softly and offer a very pleasant wearing comfort. Depending on the weight, the qualities range from light and flowing to warmer and more compact.
Typical fabric types:
• Jersey
• Interlock
• French Terry
• Modal blends
• Lyocell blends
• Soft knit qualities
• Blends with elastane
Important properties:
Homewear fabrics should be soft, elastic and comfortable, while still keeping their shape. Depending on the blend, they are more breathable, flowing, or easier to care for. Good qualities pill less and remain pleasant on the skin even after several washes. The weight determines whether the fabric feels more light and airy or warmer and more stable.
Care instructions:
Delicate cycle protects the surface and elasticity, especially for soft knits. Avoid drying too hot to prevent shrinking or warping; air drying is often better. Ironing is usually only slightly necessary, and for very soft qualities it's better to steam than to press. Detergents without harsh additives help preserve hand feel and color for longer.
