Weave - Jersey
Jersey is the fabric that many designers choose when comfort and a nice drape should come together. It feels soft, moves with you, and still looks clean. Ideal for modern basics and pieces you love to wear.
Jersey is a knitted fabric with natural stretch that can have very different effects depending on the fiber and weight. Lightweight jerseys drape softly and fluidly, while more compact jersey appears more stable and high-quality. Cotton jersey is a classic for skin feel and breathability, viscose or modal jersey often feels even softer and drapier, and blends can be easier to care for. Jersey is suitable for shirts, dresses, skirts, loungewear, and many everyday models.
Typical fabric types:
• Cotton jersey
• Viscose jersey
• Modal jersey
• Jersey with elastane
• Double jersey depending on quality
Important properties:
Elastic, soft, and comfortable, often with a nice drape. Weight influences opacity and body. Elastane provides better recovery and less sagging. Depending on quality, jersey can be prone to pilling or very durable.
Care instructions:
Gentle wash cycle, wash inside out, use mild detergent. Do not tumble dry too hot, air drying preserves shape. Iron at low to medium heat, steam preferred for delicate fibers. Iron prints and embellishments from the reverse side.
