Lycra is a brand name for high-quality elastane fibers and is usually used in blends with other materials. This gives fabrics stretch, resilience, and more wearing comfort. Lycra is particularly popular in jersey, swimwear, sports fabrics, leggings, dresses, and figure-hugging qualities.
Typical fabric types:
• Jersey with Lycra
• Polyamide Lycra fabric
• Swimwear fabric with Lycra
• Sports fabric with Lycra
• Cotton with Lycra
Important properties:
Lycra provides elasticity, shape retention, and a comfortable fit. Even small amounts significantly improve mobility and fit. Many Lycra blends are suitable for tighter cuts and durable stretch designs.
Care instructions:
Lycra should not be exposed to high heat. Gentle washing and air drying help preserve elasticity and shape. When ironing, work carefully and use a low temperature.
