Metal is mainly used in the textile sector in the form of metallic fibers, effect yarns, or coatings. This creates fabrics with shine, light reflections, texture, or technical functionality. Depending on the processing, the appearance ranges from subtly shimmering to highly shiny and eye-catching.
Typical types of fabric:
• Fabric with metal fiber
• Lurex fabric
• Metallic jacquard
• Metallic jersey
• Fabric with metallic coating
Important properties:
Metallic qualities appear eye-catching, festive, or modern and technical. Many fabrics gain light effects, texture, and special presence. Depending on the structure, they can be smoother, stiffer, or more sensitive to friction.
Care instructions:
Metallic fabrics should be handled carefully, as effect yarns and coatings can be sensitive. Gentle cleaning or hand washing is often safer. Iron very carefully, preferably from the inside out or with a cloth.
