Weave - Canvas
Canvas is the fabric for projects that need structure, strength, and a modern, robust look. Many designers use canvas because it instantly feels high-quality and holds shapes firmly. Ideal if you want sharp edges and long-lasting results.
Canvas is a strongly woven fabric with a dense structure and a firm handle. It is durable, tear-resistant, and holds its shape very well, which is why it is often used for sturdy parts. Depending on its weight, canvas can appear quite stiff and shape-giving or somewhat softer and more wearable. The surface is usually matte and gives a natural, high-quality look.
Typical types of fabric:
• Cotton canvas
• Canvas blend fabric
• Heavyweight canvas
• Lightweight canvas
• Coated canvas depending on finish
Key properties:
Canvas is robust, dimensionally stable, and long-lasting. It is well suited for parts that need to withstand a lot and should look tidy. Depending on its quality, the fabric is less elastic and rather firm. Colors often appear vivid, and the structure is visible.
Care instructions:
Prewashing can be useful, as canvas may shrink depending on the fiber. Wash at a moderate temperature and do not tumble dry too hot. Ironing is usually possible; for coated versions, only iron according to care instructions and with low heat. Treat stains locally to maintain the shape.
