Composition - Elastane
Elastane is the quality for designs that need flexibility, comfort, and a precise fit. Many designers use elastane because it allows fabrics to give, fit better, and retain their shape more reliably in everyday life. Ideal if you're looking for elastic qualities that combine comfort and silhouette. (More...)
Elastane is a synthetic elastic fiber that is usually combined in small amounts with other fibers. It gives fabrics stretch, recovery, and greater wearing comfort without significantly changing the basic appearance. Elastane is used in jersey, denim, trouser fabrics, sports fabrics, dresses, and many figure-hugging qualities.
Typical fabric types:
• Cotton with elastane
• Viscose with elastane
• Jersey with elastane
• Denim with elastane
• Polyamide-elastane blends
Important properties:
Elastane ensures elasticity, shape recovery, and comfort. Even small amounts can noticeably improve fit. Fabrics with elastane are particularly suitable for figure-hugging cuts, movement-friendly models, and qualities that should still look neat after wearing.
Care instructions:
Avoid high heat to preserve elasticity and recovery. Gentle washing and air drying are often better than using a tumble dryer. Use only moderate temperatures when ironing, and avoid heavy pressing.
