Use - Skirt fabric
The fabric determines whether a look swings, flows, or stands clearly. Many designers specifically choose according to drape and structure because the fabric makes the movement visible. Anything is possible, from light to structured. (More...)
Skirt fabrics range from lightweight, softly draping qualities to fabrics with more grip and structure. Viscose and crepe are popular for flowing lines, cotton and twill create a clearer and more defined effect. Wool and wool blends often give more body and a neat appearance, while jacquard and textured fabrics provide surface and pattern interest. Blends with elastane are used when comfort and resilience are more important, without the skirt losing its shape.
Typical fabric types:
• Viscose, crepe
• Cotton, twill
• Wool, wool blends
• Denim
• Jacquard
• Textured fabrics
• Blends with elastane
Key properties:
Drape, body, and resilience are crucial, as they define the silhouette. Light fabrics appear more fluid and feminine, firmer qualities give shape and a cleaner line. Texture can make the look more premium and often conceals small wrinkles. Elastane content increases comfort and helps prevent the fabric from bagging out.
Care instructions:
Choose care according to fiber content, many qualities can be washed gently, some should be dry cleaned. Iron according to the material and preferably from the inside for dark fabrics. Treat textured fabrics and jacquard carefully to avoid flattening the surface. For wool qualities, airing out is often better than frequent washing.
