Zusammensetzung - Elastik
Elastic fabrics are the solution when a look needs to fit well and still feel comfortable. Many designers like elastic qualities because they significantly improve fit and comfort without losing appearance. Ideal for figure-hugging cuts and everyday pieces that require movement.
Elastic describes fabrics with stretch, usually due to elastane or an elastic construction. Depending on the base material, the fabric can be smooth, textured, woven, or knitted, but elasticity remains the common advantage. Elastic qualities often offer good recovery, which reduces bagging. Depending on the weight, they are suitable for lightweight garments or for shaping silhouettes.
Typical fabric types:
• Elastic jersey
• Elastic twill
• Elastic gabardine
• Elastic crepe
• Elastic blends
Key properties:
Stretchy, comfortable, and often dimensionally stable due to good recovery. Mobility is significantly higher than with non-elastic qualities. Depending on the mix, the fabric may be less prone to creasing. Elastic supports fit, especially at the waist, knees, and hips.
Care instructions:
Do not wash or dry too hot to preserve the elastane. Gentle cycle, mild detergent, and air-drying are often ideal. Iron with moderate heat, steam rather than press. Fabric softener may impair elasticity and function in certain qualities.
