Zusammensetzung - Loden
Loden stands for a calm, high-quality look and the feeling of genuine substance. Many designers love loden because it appears compact, provides warmth, and at the same time looks very polished. Ideal for clean coats, jackets, and pieces that are meant to last a long time.
Loden is usually a densely felted wool fabric that appears more compact, stable, and often slightly more water-repellent than open wool fabrics. The surface is matte and calm, which gives the look a very high-quality appearance. Depending on the quality, loden can be soft or distinctly firm to the touch and holds its shape well. It is often used for coats, jackets, capes, and vests because it is warm and provides better wind protection than many more open wool fabrics.
Typical Fabric Types:
• Wool loden
• Loden in light quality
• Loden in heavy quality
• Loden blends
• Loden with mélange effect
Important Characteristics:
Compact, warming and dimensionally stable, with a calm, matte surface. Often more windproof and robust. Frays less than open fabrics and is easy to work with. Depending on quality, it can appear stiffer or softer.
Care Instructions:
Air out and brush instead of frequent washing. Dry cleaning is usually the best choice. Iron with steam and a cloth, not too hot. Treat stains locally, do not rub hard to keep the surface calm.
