Poplin is a tightly woven fabric, often made from cotton or blends, with a smooth, calm surface and pleasant feel. The fabric appears clear and neat and holds its shape better than very soft, flowing fabrics. Depending on the weight, poplin is suitable for shirts, blouses, dresses, and also for structured skirts when a defined look is desired. Depending on the cotton content, poplin can be more prone to creasing but looks natural and high-quality.
Typical fabric types:
• Cotton poplin
• Poplin blends
• Stretch poplin
• Printed poplin
• Shirt-quality poplin
Main properties:
Smooth surface, crisp feel, and good shape retention. Breathable when made from cotton, easier to care for in blends. Ideal for clean edges and details. Wrinkle behavior depends on the blend and finish.
Care instructions:
Washable, temperature according to fiber. Air drying reduces creasing, ironing at medium heat gives a very clean appearance. For stretch, do not wash or dry too hot. Protect colors by washing inside out.
