Weave - Romanit
Romanit is the quality for designs that are meant to look elegant, dimensionally stable, and professional. Many designers choose Romanit because the fabric feels like a mix of jersey and woven fabric, holds its shape very well, and is suitable for both business and casual looks. Ideal if you are looking for a stretchy, opaque fabric with structure for dresses, skirts, pants, or blazers. (More...)
Romanit, also known as Roma Jersey or Punto di Roma, is a firm double-knit fabric with a smooth surface and compact structure. Depending on how it's processed, it can appear fine and elegant, firm and opaque, or lightly textured with a subtle hold, for example in plain, printed, or jacquard patterns. Blends of viscose, polyester, polyamide, and elastane are often used, providing shape, wearing comfort, and crease resistance.
Typical fabric types:
- Romanit plain
- Romanit printed
- Romanit jacquard
- Punto di Roma
- Roma Jersey Stretch
Key features:
Romanit is opaque, dimensionally stable, and retains its shape very well when worn. The fabric is slightly stretchy, hardly creases, and is suitable for sheath dresses, pencil skirts, business trousers, blazers, and comfortable lounge pieces with an elegant appearance. When sewing, a jersey needle and an elastic stitch are recommended.
Care instructions:
Romanit is usually easy to care for and can be washed on a gentle cycle at 30 degrees with similar colors. Tumble drying and heavy spinning should be avoided to preserve shape and elasticity. Iron only at low temperature, best from the reverse side or with a pressing cloth.
