Use - Sweatshirt fabric
Sweatshirt fabric stands for comfort with substance, soft, cozy, and yet of high quality. Many designers use these qualities because they provide shape and are easy to work with. Ideal for casual looks with a good feel. (More...)
Sweatshirt fabrics are mostly knitted and often come as French terry or brushed sweat. French terry appears somewhat smoother and lighter, while brushed sweat provides more warmth and volume. Cotton and cotton blends are typical, and blends with polyester can increase shape retention and ease of care. A small amount of elastane ensures better recovery so that cuffs and panels keep their shape longer.
Typical fabric types:
• French terry
• Brushed sweat
• Cotton blends
• Blends with polyester
• Stretch sweat with elastane
• Knitted qualities
Important properties:
Sweatshirt fabrics are soft, comfortable, and warming depending on their weight. Good qualities retain their shape and pill less, especially with denser knits. Brushed variants feel particularly soft on the inside and appear bulkier, while smoother qualities look cleaner. Stretch content improves comfort and helps prevent the fabric from stretching out.
Care instructions:
Wash on a gentle cycle and inside out to keep the surface beautiful for longer. Do not tumble dry too hot, otherwise the fabric may shrink or lose its texture. Usually only mild ironing is necessary, with low heat. Handle brushed qualities gently so the inside remains soft.
