Use - Bag fabric
Pocket fabric must be robust while also appearing clean so that a project remains enjoyable for a long time. Many designers choose dense qualities because they hold their shape and remain durable. Ideal for sharp edges, sturdy handles, and long-lasting results. (More...)
Bag fabrics are usually heavier, tightly woven qualities, often with high tear resistance and stable structure. Canvas and strong cotton fabrics provide a classic, robust base, denim brings a distinctive look, and technical fabrics can be particularly durable. Coated versions are chosen when more everyday protection is required; depending on the surface, they appear clean or sporty. Weight and density determine how well a bag retains its shape and how stable seams and edges remain.
Typical fabric types:
• Canvas
• Strong cotton fabrics
• Denim
• Technical fabrics
• Coated fabrics
• Jacquard for textured look
Key properties:
Bag fabrics must be tear-resistant and abrasion-resistant to ensure long durability. Dimensional stability is important so that the bag does not collapse and the edges look clean. Coatings can make the fabric more water-repellent and are often easier to care for, but more sensitive to heat. Surface and texture determine whether the look is clean and minimal or deliberately rugged.
Care instructions:
Spot cleaning is often better than complete washing because it protects form and surface. Do not use high temperatures or strong ironing on coated fabrics, otherwise the coating could be damaged. If washing is possible, use low temperatures and gentle detergent, then air dry. Always check if the fabric is heat-sensitive before ironing.
